It is the fantasy of the child that breathes life into these seemingly stiff wooden figures, whose form and colour has been purposely reduced to an essential minimum. Ostheimer takes great care in shaping and crafting each individual figure so as to preserve this fantasy world and thereby give children the ability to draw on their creativity during play.
Ostheimer have been hand crafting fine wooden toys for more than 60 years. The beautiful hand carved creations are formed from sustainable hardwoods, such as maple and ash and painted with non-toxic water-based colours. All Ostheimer toys are strictly up to the high European Safety Norm EN71 for Toys.
I am the roebuck in the Ostheimer deer family. We roe deer are much smaller and more delicate than the red deer. But it is precisely this graceful natures that makes us special - look how proudly and elegantly I carry my antlers. When I see the big red deer stag, I think of us as king and prince. And I like being the "prince" in our forest.
