I look into the world...
A book of healing poems by Jody Lukas
Jody Lukas presents a rich collection of poetry inspired by her years of teaching students within a Waldorf school setting. The varying subjects explored in this collection can be assigned as healing verses for individuals, used to enhance topic teaching, or simply read for pleasure by both children and adults alike.
The first six chapters focus upon specially selected themes that serve as a valuable tool for encouraging personal development and environmental consciousness, whilst also connecting to the rich and developmentally relevant curriculum. These poems were originally written as birthday verses, designed to strengthen and harmonise the child’s capacities and act as guidance throughout the year. For the younger ages these themes are drawn from the World of Work, the Animal, Plant and Mineral Kingdoms, and for the older children Historical Figures and Human Ideals.
This publication encompasses the freedom and creativity of being a Waldorf teacher. Jody cherishes the journey she shares with her students and hopes this book of poems will inspire parents and teachers, whilst also helping to empower and nurture future generations of children.
